Title:   Data-driven intrusion detection methodologies for vehicles
 
Abstract:
In this lecture, I'll explain data-driven and machine learning assisted intrusion detection methodologies for in-vehicle networks. 

First, I'll introduce how to acquire datasets from commercial vehicles and how to discover useful features. 
Then, I'll explain how to detect intrusion and anomalous activities at in-vehicle networks (e.g., controller-area-network). 
Finally, I'll introduce various recent detection algorithms using GAN and LSTM. 
 

Bio:
He is a serial entrepreneur in the information security industry. He founded A3 Security Consulting in 1999 and AI Spera in 2017. He was a technical director (TD) and a head of the information security department of NCSOFT (2004-2010).

Currently, he is a professor in School of Cybersecurity, Korea University. His recent research is focused on solving security problems in automotive industry using AI and Machine Learning . His research group's papers and datasets, especially about in-vehicle IDS and IPS are the most widely used in automotive in-vehicle network security area.
