Title:  Designing Next-generation Automotive Networking System

                                                                      

Abstract
Recent advances in embedded processors and software technologies have fostered the development of complex cyber-physical systems (CPS) such as autonomous driving vehicles. Such emerging systems typically rely on networks that interconnect sensors, controllers, and actuators. As of now, CPS networks often face inefficiency in resource use, because of the resource over-provisioning as follows: 1) pessimistic resource usage estimate for deterministic communication and 2) redundant transmission for reliable communication. In this research, we introduce a next-generation software-defined automotive networking system that supports mode-based scheduling and on-demand fault recovery, based on the adaptation principle.


Bio
Kilho Lee is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Smart Systems Software, Soongsil University, South Korea. Prior to joining Soongsil, he received PhD and MSc degrees in Computer Science from KAIST, and BSc degree in Information and Computer Engineering from Ajou University. His research interests include system design for real-time embedded systems and cyber-physical systems.
