♣ Title: Security, Can we afford to have it? Can we afford not to have it?

♣ Abstract
Security patches and mechanisms reduce system performance and
efficiency. With a constant stream of new patches and mechanisms, the
question arises how we can afford this. In this talk, I will raise
foundational questions on how we build computers and which aspects of it
might be fundamentally wrong and broken by design.
